Data-Driven Cohesion: Leveraging BI for Cross-Functional Alignment in Supply Chain Decision-Making

Business Intelligence (BI) tools are becoming increasingly prevalent in Supply Chain Management (SCM), resulting in the transformation of many organizational practices. This study explores the acceptance of BI tools in SCM, focusing on how not merely strategic planning but also strategic levels decisions are heavily influenced by these systems. In addition to this, the transformation that Business Intelligence tools have brought is providers supply chain departments are able to break down large data sets and gain insights into designing of inventory management systems forecasting demand effectively, optimizing logistics which ultimately results in informed decisions. Technological Readiness, Data Governance and Organizational Support were significant facilitators in the implementation of BI tools for SCM as uncovered by this study. It also highlights the advantages as well disadvantages of BI integrating supply chains with an example which tells how it will help in predicting, allocating resources and making data-based strategies for a better supply chain. The results give some idea that organizations will find it beneficial to their competitive advantage when aligning the broader business objectives with supply chain practices by fostering a culture of continuous improvement through efficiency BI tools in SCM. Within the growing field of supply chain management research relating to BI, this study proposes a conceptual framework, helps advance what is known about how these tools can transform strategic decision-making in a way that provides valuable takeaways for practicing internists and business leaders whose aim it is to leverage data more effectively within their organizations.
