Introduction to Humanizing Circular Supply Chain Management
摘要
The global manufacturing industry is confronting intensifying challenges relating to environmental sustainability and safety. Human-centered circular supply chain management (CSCM) and circular economy fundamentals are gaining acceptance as a transformative approach. These concepts are encouraged through enhanced safety and lowered hazard in waste concentration, resource efficiency and minimizing waste through continuous use and circulation of materials in closed loops. Combining the circular economy with CSCM promotes a comprehensive strategy addressing environmental, social, and economic sustainability. Redesigning products to be recyclable, suitable for manufacturing, and capable of adding value through waste helps cut emissions and reduce the need for virgin resources. The integration of circular economy with CSCM leads organizations to a holistic approach toward environmental, social, and economic sustainability. By redesigning for recyclability, re-manufacturing, and waste-value creation, emissions are reduced, and virgin resources are spared. By adhering to these guidelines, businesses can minimize pollution, decrease resource consumption, and prevent workplace safety incidents when working conditions are improved. As a concept, humanizing CSCM focuses on ethical practices, participation within the community, and labor welfare throughout the supply chain. It encourages interactions between producers, suppliers, policy makers and consumers to overcoming technology, regulatory and behavioral barriers. This chapter introduces the notion of Humanizing Circular Supply Chain Management and illustrate how through this approach the manufacturing industry can transform to overcome the current sustainability and safety challenges.
