This chapter analyzes the theoretical-conceptual approaches, intersections, and possibilities between Circular Economy and Frugal Innovation. In general terms, frugality can consolidate a sustainable world and strengthen a more circular economy, which demonstrates a strong correlation between these two themes. In this sense, we conducted an integrative literature review based on scientific studies published in the Web of Science and Scopus repositories. Nine relevant articles were analyzed, resulting in a theoretical model composed of four dimensions categorizing the relationships between the two concepts: (1) solutions to address resource scarcity and overproduction of waste; (2) establishment of new production and consumption models; (3) dependence on the commitment of various social actors; and (4) contribution to the consolidation of Sustainable Development. This research offers a significant contribution by presenting an integrative and systematic refinement of emerging academic efforts, promoting a deeper and more articulated understanding of the connections between Circular Economy and Frugal Innovation in literature and the relevance and potential of these interactions to promote more sustainable and inclusive economic practices. By recognizing and exploring these interactions, the research contributes to the theoretical and practical evolution of both topics, offering valuable insights for building a more resilient and equitable future.
