Limited access to radiology services in underserved regions is multifactorial. Radiology capacity development must therefore be tailored to their specific needs. The Radiology Readiness™ survey tool, developed by RAD-AID International, allows systematic and detailed data collection and analysis for effective planning and implementation of outreach radiology programs. This framework, composed of 16 survey sections, can be adapted to a wide range of underserved populations and has proved to be successful in several outreach radiology programs in different parts of the world. In this chapter, the structure and application process of the Radiology Readiness™ tool are discussed, along with details on data collection and analysis, emphasizing the importance of this approach to the implementation of successful and sustainable radiology programs.
