This chapter explores the perspectives of the “new bioethics” in dealing with the challenges presented by the philosophical perspectives of Aristotle and Aquinas. A holistic bioethics framework is proposed, transcending the theological discussions by applying the ethical sphere. Aristotle’s idea of telos and its significant impacts on ethics and moral choices are explored, alongside Aquinas’ reconsideration and broadening of Aristotle’s teleology. The adaptation and expansion of Aristotelian teleology are analyzed, with a focus on achieving divine vision. These principles are applied to dilemmas that advocate for an approach recognizing the biological, psychological, and spiritual dimensions of human existence. The incorporation of these elements into the discussion of bioethics implies that an inclusive strategy can present empathetic answers to bioethical dilemmas.
