This chapter focuses on the use of GenAI in art(s) education in relation to traditional didactic approaches to teaching. A central theme emerges from this discussion: AI’s potential to disrupt conventional teaching practices. The chapter suggests a new way to envision how adaptive technologies can engage in the didactic relationship between teaching, learning, and subject matter. However, it also argues that even if AI can learn, instruct, and maybe grow with us, it cannot educate; for that, a tactful human educator is needed.
