This Chapter describes Phase 2a of the RCbS process, outlining the verification and validation aspects including fidelity sufficiency of the flight simulation model (FSM). Component-based FSM structures are described along with the trim-stability-response framework for characterising flight behaviour. The Chapter also introduces the potential sources of error and related uncertainty that surround the fidelity assessment.
