Theory and research on human rights and leisure overlap and are intertwined with a range of concepts and theoretical frameworks, with their own body of literature. This chapter briefly considers a number of these and how they relate to leisure and human rights generally. They are citizenship rights, social justice, inclusion/exclusion, the right to the city, human needs, public goods, constraints to leisure, capabilities and sustainable development.
