The success of any simulation activity ultimately depends on how simulation is incorporated and used within a broader educational curriculum. Designing a comprehensive, cohesive, and effective educational curriculum entails several key, inter-twining steps. These steps include the following: (1) conducting a needs assessment, (2) developing learning objectives, (3) selecting and implementing appropriate instructional methods, (4) assessing learning and competence, and finally (5) evaluating the effectiveness of the educational program.
