Quality control (QC) is a business term being applied to medicine production lines. QC can be utilized in the health care setting to mitigate negative patient outcomes and address deficiencies within a health care setting. With implementing the six domains of health care quality as introduced by the institute of medicine consumers will be able to see the quality of their health care system. Teamwork is the foundation of health care quality within the multidisciplinary setting as well as the cross disciplinary setting. There is increasing evidence that the military quality assurance and quality improvement programs also cross over into the military trauma team arrangement. Ultimately, the success and quality improvement of the trauma team organization is a direct result of the individual’s foundation of medical knowledge, the team dynamic training and team communication. Therefore, continuous real-time training, closed loop communication and quality control will improve the trauma team functionality and ensure the patient’s receive quality health care.
