Trauma video review (TVR) is increasingly used for resuscitation team education, performance improvement, and research. In these capacities, it has been found to be more reliable than traditional methods of evaluation. This chapter describes TVR utilization and applications, the practical considerations of starting or improving an existing TVR program, the integration and maintenance of a successful multidisciplinary program, and emerging opportunities for video-based review in and out of the emergency department. A story that emerges from this textbook is the concept that multidisciplinary team simulation and education lead to improved team dynamics, which in turn lead to improved processes of care, which ultimately lead to improved patient outcomes. The power of TVR lies in the fact that this technology can be used (and is usually instrumental) in every step of this progression.
