Implementation of Gender Equity and Diversity in Curricula of Critical Care and Perioperative Medicine
摘要
Implementing gender equity and diversity in the curricula of critical care and perioperative medicine involves multiple interconnected strategies. This chapter thus explores sex-specific differences in anatomy, physiology and pharmacology and their impact on disease presentation and treatment strategies. Ethical and sociocultural considerations, the adoption of inclusive language, as well as strategies for education and faculty development are discussed in the context of medical training. By embedding such principles into medical training, equitable patient care in critical and perioperative medicine can be promoted.
