This is a discussion of how in SF by Mexican women writers, notions of motherhood are interrogated and subverted in the context of technological interventions and eventually evolved into new possibilities of post-female novums. The socio-cultural context for these stories is from the 1960s to the second decade of the twenty-first century. SF heroines progress from the conventional feminine space of hearth and home and its protagonist, the mother, to that of a sexually liberated woman and beyond.
