Offensive Humor
摘要
This chapter provides an overview of issues related to racist and ethnic humor in as broad a sense as one can understand those terms. The article attempts to situate the various ethical concerns surrounding the use, function, and presence of such humor within the broader philosophical literature relative to ethics and humor studies. In looking at both empirical and theoretical/philosophical research on the topic, the article provides a series of contemporary views on the topic to give the reader a sense of the current state of the debates surrounding racist and ethnic humor and (im)propriety thereof.
