This article examines the administrative strategies for managing software required by users and scientific communities within Slovenian Grid and HPC sites. It reviews the historical approaches to software enablement and transitions to a discussion on the adoption of software modules and containers. These methods are currently favored for their efficiency in ensuring the portability, performance, and security of scientific software. Additionally, the paper outlines the existing state of software deployment, utilising modules and container images across Slovenian sites, and proposes future plans aimed at enhancing security and deployment practices.
