The Camino de Santiago pilgrimage has evolved across time, reshaping its landscapes. Previously characterized by endurance and suffering, a contemporary shift is taking place along its routes as more pilgrims hire logistics companies to transport their backpacks. This emerging practice leads to a review of the concept of pilgrimage mobility paradigm, as it involves the displacement of workers and backpacks between stages. Moreover, it blurs the lines between pilgrims and tourists, creating enjoyment spaces that blend natural and heritage environments. This study aims to investigate the impact of these emerging practices on the Camino's landscapes and the pilgrimage experience. Employing participatory observation and interviews along a chosen segment of the route will provide deeper insights into this transformative and understudied phenomenon. Results show that Camino’s stages now foster new social connections, and landscapes are changing due to both new new elements introduced by logistic services and novel pilgrims’ practices with different mobilities.
