Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) are highly efficient for providing reliable and wide-area wireless services. WMNs consist of multiple mesh routers, that can dynamically route data across the network. However, WMNs have some limitations. Especially, the initial setup of a WMN can be complex, requiring careful planning to ensure optimal router placement for coverage and connectivity. This challenge is categorized as NP-hard. This research propose a hybrid simulation system which combines Distributed Genetic Algorithm (DGA), Hill Climbing (HC) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) to optimize mesh router placement. We implemented in our system Unimodal Normal Distribution Crossover (UNDX) method and compare its performance with Simplex Crossover (SPX) method considering Fast Convergence Rational Decreasing Vmax Method (FC-RDVM) and Rational Decreasing Vmax Method (RDVM) router replacement methods. The simulation results show that the combination of UNDX and FC-RDVM provides better load balancing.

摘要
