Reflections on Jim Goodnow’s Characterization of IB Teaching Institutions
摘要
The international business discipline has evolved substantially over the past five decades. Pioneers in this discipline saw the opportunity to establish a firm-level inquiry for going international, since much of the discussion around internationalization related to an industry or a country as a whole. Contributions of these pioneers included not just addressing the scholarly question of ‘why and how firms go international,’ but also business school curriculum development, institution building, fundraising, and developing a network of like-minded educators. Jim Goodnow was one of these pioneers, fulfilling all these roles and impacting the profession and the discipline of international business.
