Data Science in Healthcare- A Bibliometric Study and Analysis
摘要
Data Science is the study of discovering new information and patterns in large datasets through the use of statistical and computer approaches. For the purpose of analyzing and understanding complex data sets, it combines statistics, computer science, and domain-specific expertise. It is a discipline that possesses the capacity to provide valuable insights. Additionally, it facilitates the process of decision-making in strategic healthcare contexts. This further contributes to the accumulation of knowledge regarding patients, consumers, and medical professionals. By making decisions based on data, healthcare providers can improve the standard and efficiency of their services in new ways. In this work, a bibliometric analysis is conducted to provide a comprehensive overview and support academic scholars in gaining a thorough grasp of the current status of scientific research on Data Science in Healthcare. A set of 359 scholarly publications pertaining to the field of Data Science in Healthcare were retrieved from the core collection of the Web of Science (WOS) database. Further, these articles were subsequently subjected to analysis using biblioshiny and VOSviewer. The findings of this study reveal prominent journals, esteemed authors, leading nations in terms of contributions, and significant publications within the field of Data Science in Healthcare. In order to enhance understanding of the present state of global research on Data Science in the Healthcare sector, a three-field diagram is constructed, connecting the author countries, the most pertinent sources, and the author keywords. In addition, the analysis of keyword co-occurrences was performed to understand the distinct areas of study. Finally, suggestions for future study possibilities are offered, with an emphasis on underexplored but potentially significant areas.
