Computational Intelligence Approach for an Intrusion Detection System
摘要
This study explores the crucial field of cybersecurity, concentrating on the complexities and difficulties associated with intrusion detection systems (IDS). The study examines the shortcomings of conventional IDS approaches, especially signature-based systems, which are progressively insufficient in the face of sophisticated cyber threats, given the concerning rise in targeted cyberattacks. The study recommends the use of Computational Intelligence (CI) methods as a better way to improve the efficacy of IDS. The three-tiered intelligent IDS architecture it presents is unique and can be adjusted to fit in with both small and large network environments. This paper not only addresses important research difficulties, like the necessity for computing resource optimization and real-world efficacy evaluation, but also shows how CI approaches can greatly improve IDS performance. By analysing the changing landscape of cyber threats, the paper provides important insights into the development of improved intrusion detection systems (IDS).
