The scientific domain that studies the relationship between the human gut microbiome and cancers has changed throughout the last few decades. The bacteria that live in the digestive tract and work with the host to control behavioral and metabolic activities in the gut make up the gut microbiota. A growing number of evidence depicts that colorectal cancer (CRC) progression is correlated with the composition of the gut microbiome. The gut microbiota regulates inflammation by regulating the human immune system and shields the intestines from infections and other pathogens when they are in a healthy state. These gut bacteria affect the immune system’s reaction to tumors in addition to being linked to the inflammation of the intestinal tract related to carcinogenesis. As such, they are associated with the growth of tumors and the efficacy of treatments aimed at preventing cancer. Various research depict gut microbiota could be utilized as a biomarker to predict the effects of immunotherapy and increase the effectiveness of this treatment for colorectal cancer by modifying. Here, we talk about the significance of the gut microbiota and how, as evidenced by current studies on the onset and course of colorectal cancer, it cooperates with anti-neoplastic treatment modalities.
