How Do Organizations Align Their Workplace Strategy to Employee Work Location Preferences
摘要
In this chapter, we push organizational leaders to consider broader implications of their company’s remote-first, office-forward, or hybrid strategy. Why do leaders want to adapt remote-first, office-forward, or hybrid? What do they hope to gain from their chosen strategy? What do they need to know they will not gain? To help organizational decision-makers answer these questions, we offer a brief summary of what research has uncovered about the effectiveness (or lack thereof) of each workplace strategy. Next, we return to the main focus of this book: finding alignment. We outline a series of alignment tactics that organizational leaders can implement to better align their workforce to their chosen workplace strategy. In doing so, we highlight the negatives of each workplace strategy: remote-first, office-forward, hybrid. We suggest that implementing alignment tactics specifically designed to fill those gaps is how organizational leaders can get their workforce to alignment.
