Aligned and Misaligned Personas: Same Hybrid Company, Different Work Experiences
摘要
In this chapter, we show how the degree of alignment between these personas’ work location preference and their company’s hybrid strategy, influences Integrators’, Traditionalists’, and Rebels’ work experience. Integrators are in perfect alignment: they work in a hybrid company and have an @hybrid preference. Integrators were initially taken aback by the constant home-office switching, but eventually, got fully onboard “Team Hybrid.” Their secret weapon was developing a new skill: Task-Location fit, which enabled Integrators to create rhythm from the otherwise confusing hybrid work experience. Traditionalists are half-aligned to their company’s hybrid strategy as they have an @office preference. Traditionalists go into work every day, regardless of who’ll be there. Though they have given up hope that the office would ever truly come back, they hope they role model office attendance and motivate more of their colleagues to come in. But the prize Traditionalists are really after is the structure, the work-life separation that the office provides. Like Traditionalists, Rebels are half-aligned, but their alignment runs in the opposite direction: they work for a hybrid company, but they have an @home preference. Out of all personas we discovered, Rebels are the most … well, rebellious. They are loudly unhappy that their company is only “halfway there,” and they advocate for an evolved view on work as a means to live. Said a Rebel: “It’s not like they give us crazy raises every year; it feels silly to be so dedicated anymore.”
