The study aims to examine the impact of research and development on financial performance in the financial institutions in GCC countries. Data has been collected using the Thomson Reuters Database. The study proposed to examine 38 top financial institutions from GCC countries for a period of five years, from 2019 to 2023. The findings reveal a positive correlation between research and development, investment and financial performance. These results suggest that increased levels of research and development are linked to higher financial performance. Future research can investigate industry-specific variables and external market conditions could yield valuable insights into the diverse approaches financial institutions take toward development investment and its effects on their financial results.
