Renewable Energy Adoption: How Renewable Energy Awareness, Belief About Renewable Energy Benefits, and Renewable Energy Generation Costs Drive Intentions
摘要
The use of renewable energy sources will play a key role in solving energy-related issues while reducing damage to the environment. The current research investigates the influence of awareness concerning renewable energy, trust in its benefits, and the price of renewable energy source production on the propensity to use the latter. Google Forms was used for a systematic questionnaire, with 397 respondents being surveyed using a quantitative approach. The analysis of the data was carried out using SPSS 23, where Cronbach's alpha was used to ensure the reliability of the scale. Additionally, regression analysis was conducted to analyze the influence of independent variables on the adoption intentions. The results also reveal that knowledge about renewable energy as a subsequent factor dictates the adoption intention. However, the cost has posed a negative determinant of adoption, and increasing costs have been an abate probability of using the renewable technology. The model explained 52.3% of the variation in adoption intention, and such a sense that knowledge and perception of advantages are essential motivators in adopting renewable energy. This is an essential study communicating renewable energy in the adoption of its further development and overcoming some financial challenges through incentives and subsidies.
