In nursing, a gap exists between theoretical knowledge and actual clinical practice, which results from the barriers to nurses’ research utilization. It is essential to recognize those barriers and aid nurses in overcoming them for better research utilization. Hence, this study intends to predict the barriers to research utilization in nursing practice using stochastic modeling. An exploratory study design was adopted, and a simulation technique was applied to the self-structured questionnaire to assess the nurses’ research utilization barriers. The Exponentiated Exponential Binomial Distribution was used to develop the model to predict the barriers to nurses’ research utilization. The result predicted that “Organization” ( \(\uptheta )\) is the topmost barrier affecting research utilization among nurses as time advances, followed by “Communication” ( \(\uplambda )\) , “Nurse” \(({\alpha })\) , and “Research” \((\upmu )\) . The results concluded that organizations should focus on their related issues to enhance nurses’ research utilization in their practice. Also, nurses should realize the barriers affecting research utilization in their practice and develop their knowledge, skills, accessibility, and presentation related to research. Those should actively engage themselves and their expertise in evidence-based nursing practice.
