The construction industry is mostly defined as a labor-intensive industry, and labor costs account for 30–50% of total project costs. So, in the construction sector, Labor costs have a significant impact on increasing or decreasing profits for construction projects. Construction management may try to control site labor costs by studying and analyzing all labor cost elements to get the possible cost of using labor on site. Therefore, it turns out that the most crucial issue for the profit in construction projects is productivity, as by increasing productivity, where time and cost can be reduced with maintaining the quality of the construction project, because this is considered one of the priority points. Three areas affect labor site costs, Basic wages, labor overhead costs, and productivity. More attention must be paid by the government and institutions related to the construction sector, especially in developing countries, because they face major problems due to the low rate of productivity in the construction industry. In addition to other problems such as the lack of available machinery, resources, and laborers who have limited experience. Therefore, productivity is the fundamental problem that must be overcome, whether in terms of the approved standards or the level of performance. In this research, a careful survey was conducted of 30 projects that were selected in Iraq to identify, diagnose, and analyze the factors affecting productivity in the workplace the extent of the influence of each factor individually (as a case study), and to which extent the management reduced those factors. The results presented the percentages of solved and unsolved problems in these selected projects according to their significant effectiveness on-site costs.
