Sources of Groundwater Contamination and Constituent Contaminants: A Review
摘要
Groundwater can seem pristine and uncontaminated. However, hazardous substances, mostly dissolved, could be discovered in groundwater during testing. Because it reduces the available supply of potable and uncontaminated water, groundwater contamination is a significant threat to the ability of the planet to support life on Earth, including that of humans and animals. Additionally, it has the unintended consequence of weakening the stability of enterprises whose production depends on groundwater. Moreover, food production through agricultural irrigation is highly vulnerable to groundwater contamination, and access to clean groundwater reduces poverty worldwide. Sustainable utilization of groundwater resources is imperative and inevitable to sustain livelihoods and life in general.
