This chapter will outline the methodological approach of the project which was grounded in feminist disability studies. Offering a valuable perspective about retrieving ‘dismissed voices and misrepresented experiences’ (Garland-Thomson, 2005, p. 1557) the method involved developing a WordPress site where women could share their stories of unwanted and non-consensual touching. The chapter will discuss the practicalities of this approach and provide the reader with research reflections about using a narrative approach to gather and share the stories of participants in an ethical manner. The chapter also examines positionality and how the insider/outsider status of the author framed the research process. As a non-disabled researcher, the project was developed and carried out working closely with a visually impaired activist who advised on appropriate methodologies, language and was key in the sampling stage of the project. Overall, this chapter offers useful research perspectives on feminist disability research and practical tips on designing an ethical and inclusive project on often dismissed voices.
