Mobility is vital for the internal market and for the quality of life of citizens as they enjoy their freedom to travel. In most cases, passengers can choose between several alternativeAlternative modes of public transport for their journeyJourney. The free choice of the mode of transport depends on the relevance of its quality indicators and the passenger's personal needs. This chapter presents a comparative analysis of road, rail and air transportAir transport alternatives. The chapter also considers the relevance of the criteria developed by the authors for choosing rail as an alternativeAlternative to bus and air.
