Skin grafting for Dupuytren’s disease has been described in the setting of radical dermofasciectomy (defined as excision of the overlying skin in addition to the diseased palmar fascia as a means for treatment of Dupuytren’s disease), limited fasciectomy with small “firebreak” skin grafts, and limited fasciectomy resulting in skin deficit. The primary indication for dermofasciectomy with full-thickness skin graft (FTSG) is in the setting of recurrent Dupuytren’s disease with diffuse skin involvement, in an effort to decrease the risk of future recurrences. The efficacy of such techniques as supported by literature in lowering recurrence rates remains controversial. However, a thorough knowledge of how to perform skin grafting for Dupuytren’s disease is useful in severe clinical cases.
