Although during the last years numerous pervasive methods that provide accurate results have been developed, acquiring samples from an artwork is not allowed for a large number of objects, due to their historical value. Consequently, various non-destructive techniques (NDT) are being explored, which may not be as accurate as the pervasive ones, but can be used in cases where sampling from the artworks is not allowed.
