Towards “Cultural” Intelligence: Integrating Signal Processing and Semantic Web Technologies
摘要
The analysis of art objects, intending to determine the materials they are composed of, and the techniques used during their creation, is crucial for both their restoration process and the comprehension of their artistic value. Although during the last years numerous pervasive methods that provide accurate results have been developed, acquiring samples from an artwork is not allowed for a large number of objects, due to their historical value. Consequently, various non-destructive techniques (NDT) are being explored, which may not be as accurate as the pervasive ones, but can be used in cases where sampling from the artworks is not allowed.
