Abdominal pain is a common presenting complaint in the pediatric population. While the causes of abdominal pain can be as benign as constipation (Chap. 44 ), it is key for the clinician to identify etiologies requiring prompt attention. Three key pathologies on the do not miss list are: appendicitis, pancreatitis, and cholecystitis. This chapter will present three cases of children presenting with abdominal pain and highlight key parts of the clinical history and physical exam that will aid clinicians in making prompt diagnoses.
