Limp is defined as an abnormal gait caused by pain, weakness, or deformity. A common complaint encountered by school nurses, limping can result from musculoskeletal, neurologic, infectious, inflammatory, or referred conditions. This chapter presents three cases of acute “cannot miss” diagnoses and key points relevant to caring for limping children in the school-based environment.
