Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) is topic that has become essential to all aspects of medicine. We now know the crucial impact DEI has on how medicine is learned and practiced, as well effects on patient experiences and outcomes. DEI also plays an important role in the development of our healthcare workforce. In this chapter we will look at three examples of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and how these themes play an integral role in school-based health centers. Included will be practical evidence-based recommendations and take-away points that can be adopted into any healthcare practice or clinic.
