A Brief History of the Brazilian Space Program Through Its Major Achievements and Governance Cycles
摘要
The Brazilian Space Program stretches along 64 years so far, since 1961 up to 2025. It has been a Brazilian government driven program, reflecting policies, strategies, structures and the unavoidable changes throughout so many years. There are several possibilities to organize the timeline of the most relevant facts along more than sixty years. One could be to group the facts along the periods of each presidential term, or along the decades (from the 1960s to the 2020s), or simply enumerating and reporting chronologically the major results achieved and projects developed, without caring for the political context. It is also possible to look at this matter by considering that each government has the right and duty to propose and implement new government plans, or to keep previous ones. These plans usually appear as official documents detailing what should be done, their schedules, budget allocations, and whose organizations will be in charge. In this review it is proposed to adopt those strategic documents as a backdrop to organize the six decades of the Brazilian Space Program timeline and present a brief overview of its history from the point of view of the major achievements and governance cycles.
