Imagery can make learning easier and faster, so teachers need to know how to use and develop different ways of using it. Studies related to this have been conducted in the STEM academic and work fields [1]. The combined use of different imagery modes is important in engineering, for example to avoid design errors that cause accidents that are difficult to foresee when using only one imagery mode [2]. We know the most about object visual imagery, but even its precise measurement is only possible in a laboratory setting. In our experiment, we developed an online computer-administered test, a Hungarian version of a test found in the literature, which aimed to measure object visual imagery, and from their results, the researchers concluded that using one’s native language results in a more vivid object visual imagery compared to using a foreign language. In addition to the mentioned test, our participants also completed the Vividness of Visual Imagery Questionnaire (VVIQ), the Internal Representations Questionnaire (IRQ), and a background questionnaire. The results of our adapted test positively correlate with VVIQ scores (0.5***), thus indicating a relationship with the participant’s object visual imagery. Considering the results of the IRQ and the background questionnaire, it is further likely that there is a relationship between language use and object visual imagery. 74 students from János Selye University in Slovakia, preparing to teach various subjects, completed the test online in Hungarian as their mother tongue in a computer room. SPSS was used to analyze the results.
