The exploration of Emotional Intelligence (EI) within the business milieu is a promising direction, which is evidenced by the increase in the number of publications about EI within the Management category in the WoS scientometric database in recent years. This focus stems from the positive correlation between employee EI and companies’ financial performance. This article explores how EI manifests across different generations (Baby Boomers, Generation X, Generation Y, and Generation Z) in the business world. Our research is grounded in the methodological framework of the 4-component instrumental model of EI in Business, known as the 4EI Model. This model laid the foundation for a specially designed “EI in Business” questionnaire. This questionnaire measures four key aspects of EI crucial for business professionals: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management. Administered via Google Forms in Ukraine and Slovakia, the questionnaire facilitated the creation of average EI profiles for each age group. By analyzing these profiles, it is possible to identify the strengths and weaknesses of different generations in terms of their EI. This study demonstrates the practical application of EI measurement in a business context across generations. It contributes to the existing research on intergenerational characteristics in the workplace and offers valuable insights for building effective intergenerational teams.

摘要
