This paper presents the outcomes of integrating a new course module into the Bachelor Arts Honours Degree Programme in German Studies at the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka during the latest curriculum revision in the Faculty of Humanities. Among several new features introduced during this revision including an English Medium taught course module in each academic year, a new course module bearing four credits was introduced to the third year of study on Computer Assisted Language Teaching. Two batches of students have successfully completed this course unit to date. The batch that graduated has already secured employment mainly in the teaching profession. The paper highlights the results of teacher and student feedback as well as the outcomes of the teaching practice sessions conducted for beginners of German as a Foreign Language in the first year. The analysis of data shows a remarkable increase in the confidence of students to plan lessons and perform teaching tasks by integrating digital tools and an enhanced performance during teaching practice sessions paving way for a successful career in teaching German as a Foreign Language.
