During one semester of 2023, the students and members of the academic staff at Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies were involved in the university’s project “Digitalization initiatives for the improvement of study quality in the field of strategic specialization of universities” to pilot the self-study online course “Foundations of Academic English”. The course had been developed by colleagues from another university using the Moodle platform to be integrated into the Academic English course for post-graduate engineering students. The present research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of such an online interactive course for studying Academic English at the tertiary level. Firstly, the authors analyzed the structure of the Digitalization Project’s self-study online course, and then the opinion of post-graduate students of engineering sciences was determined. Overall, post-graduate students gave a positive evaluation of the online course even though some critical remarks were expressed in the commentaries of the survey.

摘要
