Excavation carried out for several years at the group of sites of Telyachiy Brod of the Rodanovskaya culture in the Perm Cis-Urals yielded tools for a full cycle of obtaining and processing of iron. As a result, a set of the objects is available for research now: a coal burning pit, cone-shaped metallurgical furnaces, stone forges, and numerous iron products. Various categories of forgings have already been analyzed applying the method of metallography. The semi-finished products in the shape of plates prove to have the structure of either bloomery iron or raw steel. The formation of some plates has not yet been completed. The knives were forged mainly using welding-in and a three-fold sequence technology, while flint strikers were produced using welding-on. The overall production level is estimated to be high. A few defects have been observed. Due to the presence of the local (three-fold welding) and borrowed (welding-in and welding-on) sequences of production operations were accepted, the blacksmith tradition suggests an intercultural exchange with the neighbors. The exchange was probably organized through imports.

摘要
