In this chapter, we elaborate on a wide variety of general variability sources in all abstraction layers. Each variability source can affect many quality metrics, such as speed, power, reliability, etc. Nevertheless, we focus on how these variability sources would cause performance variability in integrated systems. Furthermore, we discuss the general strategies used in tackling variability.
