Designing Artificial Systems with Degeneracy: Matching Automata for Collective Survivability
摘要
A design for a group of agents that collectively attain higher availability is presented. With the advent of intelligent sensors and actuators, the collective intelligence of a group of components can be realized in autonomous distributed and collective systems that can be networked. Collective survivability can also be regarded as falling in the category of group problem solving and can be achieved by matching among networked automata (dynamic configuration) of systems. To implement network rewiring, separation of physical and information systems is proposed for applying self-rewiring networks as well as other self-action models. A self-rewiring algorithm can be formalized as a matching automaton. An application to autonomous distributed satellites is discussed.
