Artificial Intelligence (AI) offers powerful tools to support learning in nursing education when used ethically and appropriately. This chapter gives examples of early AI applications in health care and nursing practice and provides understanding how AI functions, particularly Large Language Models (LLMs), to help students harness its potential while maintaining academic integrity. Practical examples demonstrate how to use AI to enhance understanding of complex concepts, create case studies for practice, and reinforce learning while maintaining a growth mindset. The distinction between using AI to support versus replace critical thinking is emphasized through examples of appropriate and inappropriate use. Ethical considerations and guidelines for AI use in nursing education are presented along with interactive learning activities and self-assessment activities. Understanding how and why AI can support learning helps students apply critical thinking to use these tools effectively while maintaining academic integrity.
