The purpose of this chapter is to establish the relationship between relational competencies (such as transparency, trust, and collaboration) and supply chain capabilities (such as agility and resilience) through empirical research. The study focuses on the healthcare sector, particularly in light of the COVID-19 crisis, which exposed the fragility of the healthcare supply chain and resulted in significant human loss. The theoretical model is grounded in the relational view, and a pretested survey instrument was developed using a seven-point Likert scale. Data was collected from retail pharmacies in France using a database obtained from a reputable healthcare sector consulting firm, resulting in 129 usable responses. Hypotheses were tested using WarpPLS 7.0 commercial software, and the analysis revealed that transparency and trust are significant drivers of collaboration. Furthermore, collaboration among partners is a significant driver of agility and resilience. These findings indicate that relational competencies have a positive and significant influence on agility and resilience during times of crisis, supporting the relational view and explaining how these competencies drive supply chain capabilities. The chapter also acknowledges its limitations and suggests future research directions.
