Disaster Planning and Considerations for Children
摘要
This chapter focuses on key concepts of emergency preparedness and triage for medical providers in the setting of disasters and mass casualty incidences (MCI) with specific emphasis on pediatric considerations to improve the care of children during disasters. Planning at various levels—including family, local, regional, national levels—is discussed, including risk assessments for communities; multisector coordination between agencies such as fire, prehospital emergency services, police, and hospitals; and resources for further plan development for specific entities.
