Future Directions in Neuroimaging of Headache Disorders
摘要
New neuroimaging techniques, including structural, metabolic, and functional imaging methods, hold great promise for improving our understanding of the complex multifaceted headache pathophysiologies, stratifying headache patients for treatment selection, and developing a personalized medicine approach. This chapter will highlight emerging and promising new neuroimaging modalities that have the potential to help in accomplishing the abovementioned goals, as well as the potential for utilizing multimodal artificial intelligence (AI)-driven radiomics approaches to study headache disorders. Additionally, future directions in neuroimaging of headache disorders in clinical practice are discussed. Finally, calls for action are proposed for headache experts to form multidisciplinary teams that combine clinical and technological expertise to apply these emerging neuroimaging technologies to answer headache-related questions, as well as to recommend best practices in research related to neuroimaging of headache disorders.
