The Relationship Between the Application of (IAS 34) and Quality of Accounting Information
摘要
Investigating the connection between the quality of accounting data in commercial banks listed on the Iraq Stock Exchange and the implementation of International Accounting Standard No. (34) “Interim Financial Reports” is the goal of this study. One of the fundamental instruments for raising the caliber of accounting data is the Inter-National Accounting Standard (IAS 34). The study used a descriptive analytical technique, and a questionnaire with many axes covering the study’s fundamental factors was created. A sample of workers and accountants employed by commercial banks registered on the Iraq Stock Exchange received 220 questionnaires, and 210 of those questions were collected. Following the auditing and data validity verification process, ten surveys were deemed insufficient for statistical analysis, resulting in a final analysis of 200 questionnaires. The findings demonstrated a statistically significant positive correlation between the quality of accounting information in commercial banks and the implementation of International Accounting Standard (34) in those institutions. The quality of accounting information accessible to external users, including investors and financial analysts, has improved as a result of the implementation of this standard, which has helped to increase the accuracy and transparency of financial reports. The findings also demonstrated that following International Accounting Standard (34) lowers the likelihood of accounting errors and improves the accuracy of the data presented.
