Administration of Ultrasound Programs
摘要
Successful administration of a point-of-care ultrasound program requires an organized, intentional approach that encompasses important aspects of program management, including documentation and reimbursement, budgeting, safety and infection control, and quality oversight and improvement. In this chapter, a pragmatic and holistic guide to running a program is outlined with practical strategies. Documentation requirements are described, highlighting the need for clear, consistent record-keeping practices that comply with regulatory standards and facilitate reimbursement processes. Budget planning is discussed, with strategies for forecasting and managing costs associated with equipment acquisition, maintenance, and staff training. Safety and infection control are addressed, with recommendations for best practices to ensure patient and provider safety while reducing the risk of cross-contamination. This chapter also explores quality oversight, underscoring the role of continuous monitoring and quality assurance protocols in maintaining and improving standards of care.
