Ultrasound-Guided Procedures
摘要
Across a broad range of procedures, the use of ultrasound guidance improves healthcare quality and safety, increasing overall success rates and decreasing complication rates. Continually expanding evidence supports the superiority of ultrasound over landmark-based techniques, establishing it as a standard of care for many procedures. This chapter reviews ultrasound guidance for an array of procedures, including vascular access, pericardiocentesis, pacemaker placement, thoracentesis, tube thoracostomy, paracentesis, nasogastric and orogastric tube placement, lumbar puncture, and hematoma blocks.
